When Every Second Counts – even more, then for slag analysis

Imagine a colleague collapses, or someone suffers an electrical shock – would you know exactly what to do?

At QuantoLux, we want to make sure the answer is “yes.” That’s why our team recently underwent a professional first aid course, led by our co-founder Mischa Ounanian, whose background as a licensed DLRG instructor brought both expertise and passion into the training.

The DLRG, or Deutsche Lebens-Rettungs-Gesellschaft (“German Life Saving Society”), is the world’s largest voluntary water rescue organization. Beyond its work in water safety, it is also a recognized authority in lifesaving and first aid education. Each year, the DLRG trains thousands of people in first aid measures—from resuscitation and wound care to emergency response—equipping them with skills that can save lives.

The course took place in our new headquarters, in the room where our devices are displayed and where customers usually experience our innovations first-hand. It was the perfect place to combine our daily work environment with real-life emergency scenarios. From life-saving reanimation techniques such as heart massage to handling injuries and electrical accidents, we gained confidence in situations that demand fast and precise action.

Why does this matter? While our instruments are designed with safety in mind and use less voltage compared to traditional Spark OES systems, our teams often work directly on open devices and live components. In such cases, preparedness isn’t optional – it’s critical.

But beyond professional necessity, this training also reflects our values. At QuantoLux, many of us dedicate time voluntarily to social causes. Safety, responsibility, and care are not just part of our jobs – they are part of who we are.

By investing in these skills, we are not only making our workplace safer but also reinforcing a culture where innovation, responsibility, and humanity come together.

A big thank-you goes to our team for their commitment, motivation, and willingness to take responsibility – together we make our workplace safer!
