Our job ad said: “No PhD required.” Zoe has one. She applied anyway. Apparently, accepting limits is not her thing. Good habit for someone who works on our calibrations. Especially when it comes to going beyond existing analytical limits… For four years, she calculated how electrons should behave. Since August, she watches how they really do. Live. In a laser plasma, up to a thousand times per second. Meet **Dr. Zoe Scheller**, our new application engineer in Kleve. Quantum chemistry, University of Duisburg-Essen. But she did not start with theory. During her studies she spent almost four years at Revierlabor in Essen. Weighing, dissolving, titrating. Quality assurance. For what we do, you need both. The laser makes the light. The calibration makes the number. Now that number is Zoe’s job. And with her background, a strange peak in a spectrum is not noise.
