QLX9 roadshow announcement USA

In many steel plants, slag analysis is still a laboratory process: samples are taken, transported, prepared, and measured — often with a delay of several hours. Valuable process time is lost, and decisions are made based on outdated data.

With our upcoming US roadshow, we are changing that.

Instead of asking plants to adapt to our system, we bring the system directly to the melt shop. Our mobile QuantoLux slag analyzer now fits into a standard car trunk, allowing us to perform real-time, in-situ slag analysis directly at your site.

How does the roadshow work?

The concept is simple and designed to minimize effort on your side.

We arrive on-site with the analyzer and set up the system in less than 30 minutes. Operator training takes another 30 minutes, ensuring your team can immediately interact with the system and understand the results.

From that point, we move directly into testing.

Over the course of approximately four hours, we analyze your slag samples — as they come from your process. There is no need for complex sample preparation. Crushing and simple dosing are sufficient to start measuring.

During this session, it is possible to analyze hundreds of samples, covering all relevant elements. This includes not only standard slag components, but also elements such as fluorine, as well as ferroalloys like FeSi and FeMn.

What makes this different?

The key difference is timing.

Instead of waiting hours for lab results, you receive feedback within minutes. This allows direct correlation between process actions and slag composition — heat by heat, sample by sample.

Whether it is optimizing FeO levels in the EAF, ensuring MgO saturation in the LF, or improving desulfurization conditions, decisions can be made based on real-time data rather than assumptions.

Why test it in your own process?

Every steel plant is different. Raw materials, operating practices, and process targets vary significantly. That is why we believe the best way to evaluate the impact is not through presentations, but through direct testing in your own environment.

The roadshow gives you exactly that opportunity — a hands-on evaluation under real conditions.

Limited availability

Due to the on-site nature of the roadshow, the number of available slots is limited. We are currently scheduling visits across the United States.

If you are interested in experiencing in-situ slag analysis in your own melt shop, we invite you to request a stop during our roadshow.
