One More Steel Mill is Monitoring Slag Composition On-Site with a QLX9 Slag analyzer

Last week, the QuantoLux Team successfully commissioned another QLX9 slag analyzer for a steel mill in Europe. With this state-of-the-art system, the customer can now analyze EAF and LF slags, as well as FeSi, FeMn, and FeSiMn alloys, in just 20 seconds. This rapid capability empowers them to optimize processes and react immediately to increasingly volatile raw material compositions, boosting efficiency and consistency.

The QLX9 slag analyzer uses Laser OES (Optical Emission Spectroscopy) to deliver precise, real-time elemental analysis. A high-energy laser vaporizes slag or alloy samples, producing light emissions that reveal their composition. This enables on-site, instant quality control, ensuring improved process performance and seamless adaptation to variable input materials.
